Experience Airshow Fun from Home

Date: May 8, 2020 Category: Blog Tags: , , , , ,

After this year’s Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, the event’s organizers worked hard to bring the spectacle and excitement of Sun ’n Fun to the digital world.

Sun ’n Fun Home Edition features everything you’d enjoy at the traditional event in a new, interactive online format. Explore the virtual expo, watch videos from past airshows and live interviews with favorite performers, and purchase Sun ’n Fun apparel so you can remember “The Greatest Airshow That Never Happened!” A new program, STEMChats, will also offer hands-on crafts and activities for distance learning with children. New content is being added every day, so be sure to check back often.

The online experience will culminate with a special Live Benefit Broadcast scheduled for Saturday, May 30. The 4-hour live stream event promises plenty of flying, exclusive interviews, and entertaining aviation content.

Donations and sales proceeds from the event will benefit Sun ’n Fun’s Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE), the STEM-based learning campus. The Sun ’n Fun expo generates $2 million annually for STEM programs, flight training, aerospace-related college scholarships, and hands-on learning facilities to inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals.

LiveAirshowTV recently debuted “The Socially Distant Airshow” on its Facebook page and YouTube channel. The airshow performances are prerecorded but feature new commentary from well-known airshow announcers Rob Reider, Ric Peterson, and Matt Jolley.
